Box is a hardy evergreen and slow growing shrub, and this variegated form grows slower than the plain type. You don't need to clip it, but you can if you want to, and if you want a clipped look start when the plant is small. It likes good soil and part shade, with some shelter from cold Aberdeenshire winds. Sold in a 3l pot.
