My plant nursery is just up the road from the plant stall. At 220m above sea level, and on an Aberdeenshire hillside, it's fairly exposed. I built the first poly tunnel there in 2016 and it has grown on since then.
The nursery is completely off grid, it has no electricity (so no artificial heat) and uses only water that flows naturally out of the hill. Since the summer of 2023 all the plants have been grown in peat free locally made compost. I grow my plants in durable plastic pots, these can all be returned to the plant stall for re-use, which I encourage you to do!I propagate plants from seed, by division of garden perennials, I take cuttings from shrubs, and I bring new varieties and seasonal plants in as plug plants to grow on.
Winters can be harsh! But this helps me select plants suitable for life in Aberdeenshire.
As well as supplying plants, I can plant up your summer pots and hanging baskets.
